I don't have an agenda here. Within the context of the discussion, I made the assumption that the type of indentured servants/slaves in question are those who suffer/ed (without waiting for definitions to be spelled out for me).

I do not know the facts of history beyond what Allah has made known to me, so I suppose unless I am actively studying these signs (like the speaker in the video) then I am not in a situation to state whether indentured servants/slaves suffered or not... like you, I too studied sociology and was exposed to these concepts to some extent but in no way am I an 'expert;' are you?... All said and done, I have come across people in Canada who, for all intents and purposes, were indentured servants - I'm talking about recently not in the past... and despite laws and regulations... crooked people have a way of using their mental energies to devise ways to get around things and I have indeed seen people suffer as a result. Also, I've read about people in other parts of the world who suffer as indentured servants... so one can only imagine what the conditions might've or must've been like in the past.
