The gulf states would be way too expensive for me to live on my retirement income.

The mosque where I reverted was basically a Saudi mosque; and I went there for about 2 years.

And yes, they treated me like some kind of celebrity.

Well, i thought you will do some part time to compensate.... however, even with a job in gulf, you'll have enough time to pursuit your objective of learning arabic.
monthly expenditure of USD 2500 will be enough for a decent living... i suppose.
