Default Making salah immediately when the time window begins
As-salamu alaykum.

I have heard from many Muslims in my community two things about salah/prayer from people within my community for many years that I hope you all can help me gain clarity on.

1) I've heard from many that if one does not make prayer/salah immediately when the time window to perform it in begins for no good reason (for example, being asleep or engaging in something trivial), this is haram and a sin. Is this an opinion based on any Islamic sources?

2) I've also heard from many that not making prayer/salah immediately when the time window to perform it in begins for no good reason (for example, being asleep or engaging in something trivial) is said to be a sign of the munafiq (religious hypocrites). Is this something derived from Islamic sources?

I want to emphasize that I am not in any way suggesting that one should not make their prayers/salah as soon as possible; after all, most of us make sure to be on time (or even early) for our worldly commitments, so we should show a far greater level of dedication to our commitments to our Creator. I am just trying to increase my knowledge on this issue so that I know what the actual rulings are.

JazakAllah Khayran for all of your help.
