When will muslims learn to appreciate each others genuine efforts overlooking whether one is Hanafi, Shaifi, Hanabli etc! Though Dr. Zakir Naik is really good in comparitive religion but still he says that he is just a "student of comparative religion" and also says that he "is not a scholar". When he accepts it then why all this "debating" about him. No ordinary human being can be absolutely perfect in all the matters of religion, this includes me first and then all the rest who contributed in this thread. Neither a scholar can be 100 percent perfect in all the spheres of religious knowledge. He has mashaAllah done alot good but we should not accept him to be absolutely perfect in all the matters of th religion, neither does he claim to be absolutely perfect. My question to all those who gave a negative view about Zakir Naik is "You must be following some guidance by some scholars, so do you think that, that scholar is absolutely perfect in all the matters of the religion and dawah?"
No doubt religion is ultimately a matter of heart but we should understand that people think differently. Before emaan enters their hearts they want certain questions to be answered even if they are genuinely interested in Islam. The nature of questions and doubts can vary. Dr. Zakir Naik deals with some of the questions that arises in the mind of non muslims. Though Dr. Zakir always says that the holy Quran is the "book of Signs not Science". Quran is a treasure of guidance which also has knowledge of Science as a part. So what is wrong if Dr. Zakir uses some of the knowledge that Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala has given in the holy Quran to answer some of the queries by non muslims? There must be some other daee who are able to answer questions of different nature that arises in the mind of some other non muslims. We should respect each one of the scholars and the student of comparative relgion.
