"For many years, Abdul Muttalib slept near the Ka’bah at Hijr Ishmael, where his couch was spread out. For one thing, Abdul Muttalib set out that only he should sit on the couch. Not even his children were able to sit on it. But he loved Our Prophet so much that he allowed Our Prophet to sit with him on the couch. Even when Our Prophet was advised not to sit in his couch by his uncles, Abdul Muttalib would say:

"Let my son stay, by Allah, he has a great future."

Our Prophet was so engaging that anybody who met him liked him. Abdul Muttalib loved Our Prophet so much that he constantly referred to Our Prophet as “my son” as used in this instance and the above statement:

"There is a great future ahead for my son!"

Additionally, Abdul Muttalib would take Our Prophet on important tribal meetings in The House of Assembly with other elders of the tribe."
