Abu Ya’la mentioned this in his book entitled Al-Ma’tamad as follows:
"No one should enjoin good or forbid evil unless
he understands what he enjoins, understands what he forbids,
show gentleness in what he enjoins, shows gentleness in what he forbids,
show forbearance in what he enjoins, and show forbearance in what he forbids.”
