Not every mushaf ("mushaf" = a copy of the Qur'an) has the ع markings. It's mostly in mushafs with the "subcontinental" script. In the type pictured above, there will be these small boxes every 1/8 of a Juz'. So there will be 8 of these in a Juz', and each is called a ربع حزب .
So, in other words, different types of mushafs will have different markings for division. But what is common will be the Surahs (114 total in the Qur'an) and the Juz's (30 of 20 pages each).
