Some hikmah an aalim once told me (but in my own words):

"Women like men, not whimps. They like it when a guy takes control. Now a real man is a person who says where they will live, how much they will spend, etc. However, when it comes to what color the blinds should be, the bed sheets, etc., leave it to the women. Let them have what they like."

Also

"When it comes to love, show it through your actions. Actions speak louder than words. But don't be shy to express your love once in a while by saying the words."
