This is an important topic, as it is propagated in liberal arts that 'karma' or 'kismet' are a reality only described in different mythologies and religions.

What is 'karma'?

The word itself is from sanskrit and suggests 'action'. The concept is today referred to as "what goes around, comes around" or "you reap what you sew", but the original concept is similar to:

'the deed's of one's life position one in their reincarnation in this life'. Good deeds result in favorable reincarnation. Bad deeds result in lesser reincarnation.


The idea of 'karma' is from Vedic scriptures starting from 1000 BC (before Christ/Isa (as)). It was also found in preBuddhist Upanishad documents.
Karma served to reenforce Brahmanism of Hinduism, thus the most powerful, smartest, richest people deserved their superior status on account of good deed which they did in previous life. Buddhism also adopted this idea by rendering Buddha the highest creation, the enlightened one, who obtained this higher level by doing good deeds over his previous lives. And of course, those born into poor, despised families, Dalits- Untouchables- deserve this status on account of bad deeds committed in previous lives.

Buddhism's different versions/sects have variations of karma, including 'nirvana': that one's state of transcendence is reached as a result of deeds in this life or previous lives.

In all of this, Hinduism of Brahmanism, or Vedic teachings, or Buddhism do not recognize any Creator or Supreme Being who directs 'karma' or judges actions/deeds or intentions. Rather, it is an autonomous "system" which is said to function.

One can see from this a clear benefit and interest of Brahman classes to propagate and promote this myth to justify a rigid heirarchy in society. The poorest people deserve their state of affairs on account of karma, as do Brahmans.


But these myths and lies are not dispelled by Islam.
Islam does NOT recognize 'karma' or it's Persian/turk alternative: kismet. (Qada is different frmo kismet, or qisma)

Allah (SWT) reveals throughout the Quran that humans live but one life: they are born, live, and die, and never return to this life due to the barzakh, the barrier between this life and the next.

Allah reveals that Allah will judge intentions of deeds and humans and jinn will face the reality of their deeds and intentions on the Day of Judgement.

Allah reveals that His Mercy extends to all creation, even evil and powerful men. And He predestines 'rizq'- provision- for every human regardless of their deeds or intentions in life. As well, an evil man may receive wealth and power in life without deserving it, and he may have many children and not have any personal trials. Rather, he will be held accountable in the next life.

[And all of this can be verified and upheld by conclusive evidence from the Quran]

So 'karma' has nothing to do with Islam. Rather, it is from shirk and it serves elitism, the worship of elites.
