Ham radios as High quality, cheap alternatives to azaan receivers..
Assalamu alaikum
I am a regular viewer of this forum. I thought I should post something that may be of some use to others inshallah.
I have been regularly ordering ham radios as azaan receivers for friends and relatives in my locality (especially before Ramadan). The standard azaan receivers from the masajid cost £80-100. You can also buy the Nabishi ones which I have done in the past. Many of these are of low quality material and stop working after a few years.
From my own experience, over the years I have ordered a few different hand-held transceivers from HongKong via ebay e.g
Puxing PX-777 uhf (very good audio, but high pitch sound from the charger)
Feidaxin FD-268B uhf, (audio not as good)
Weierwei vev-3288s uhf (basically same as PX-777 i.e very good audio, but no Charger noise)
I have found them to be of very high quality plastic and would usually order the Weierwei vev-3288s uhf which you can buy for £44 incl. P&P.
I hope others find this information to be useful. In any case please make dua for me.
Jazakallah
