As for ´alayhi as-salam for non-Anbiya, Imam al-Bukhari, in his Saheeh, used ´alayhi as-salam for Ahl al-Kisa.

I've heard this before; anywhere I could get more information about this? Jazak Allah

Regarding Imam Mahdi, is it not true that he will be from Banu Hashim? How could his Arabic be deficient? (And for the person who said he needs to "communicate with the world" and therefore that somehow supports that his Arabic will/should be deficient... sigh please think more before posting.)
