Assalamu alaikum Dear Brothers/Sisters,

Can we do Miswakh and use Aththars (Non alcoholic Perfumes) while fasting? Because some say that "we can't make miswakh and use perfumes while fasting times as well" why is that? and some say that "no matter can make miswakh for fulfill our sunnah and also can use perfumes for ignore our sweating smell which makes bother someone while praying together on saff, then can use perfumes while fasting times too etc"...

Please give me a good explanation for this by including sahih hadeeths as the way Nabi Muhammadh (S.A.W) used to do in his life....

after zawal it is makrooh to make siwaak, unless one wishes to remove the taste or smell of sleep from the mouth. & one must make sure not to swallow the saliver because anything that mixes with ones saliver breaks the fast when saliver is swallowed, even the colour on cotton thread if it comes out when one wets it in the mouth would break the fast.

this is for the shafi' madhab, I cant find rulings dealing with atar, but I can tell you that it would not break the fast because you cant break your fast through the skin under normal circumstances.
