Well I have heard something strange. They call Urdu a Lashkari language (nothing new here), but it was artificially developed by the muslim conquerors of India to facilitate communication between their soldiers coming from different tribes and parts of India. Wikipedia, last I checked, doesnt consider Urdu a local language spoken by the muslims. It rates Arabic as the language spoken by the largest number of muslims, followed by Bengali, and then Punjabi. Urdu is considered as an official language more than a cultural one according to some people. Wallahualam
