To simply kick out or disown, where is the Love that Christ has shown and does show us?
Asher, thats horrible, I hope your friend knows not all professing Christians are homophobic or homosexual hate mongers, very sad indeed
It was not just one friend.
Though in particular I was thinking of a friend of mine who was not only disowned by his family (and still hasn't been in touch with them, four years later) but also had a large trust fund taken away. He was genuinely suicidal for months afterwards, he lost not only his family and his home but a lot of trust fund money. Yeah, it was "just money", but to say it was a slap in the face would be an understatement.
Gay teen suicide rates are far higher than any other demographic, and the reason for this is the widespread intimidation by a Christian society.
I'm really not interested in the inevitable argument that homphobes need not be Christians -- which is true -- but the correlation with Christianity is undeniable.
For Ben to say he doesn't see Christian intimidation towards homosexuals is just demonstrating his intense dishonesty or his astounding stupidity. Either way, he doesn't know how offensive his claims are.
