how do you know if someone is spiritual enough to start using a pendulum? That's a great question. I guess the answer is, what is the person's intent or reason for using a pendulum? If it's just a parlor game to them, probably not spiritual enough. If they have an agenda, like trying to control people or prove how great they are, probably not spiritual enough.

I think (and it's just my opinion) that a person should be mature enough to consider the pendulum as a tool, and to treat the use of that tool as a means of exploration and growth.

That means treating the pendulum with respect, but also being wary of information gained through it until familiar with the energies involved. This is important, as sometimes a pendulum's answers will actually be the user's desired answers. It's very easy to unwittingly make tiny movements that cause the pendulum to swing in the direction of the answer you want or expect to have the pendulum to give.
