Damask- from Damascus, a type of rose which comes in summer and autumn varieties.

The summer variety, rosa damascena, is said to be a cross between rosa gallica and rosa phoenicea.

Attar of roses (used extensively in perfume, rose water, et cetera) was produced from Damask roses.
