Hah,

Oerdin, you do realize Abizaid was supposed to retire years ago and was staying on as a favor? You can characterize his leaving as whatever you want, but there is nothing to indicate this is anything more than a normal rotation of commands. If you disagree, how long was the last CENTCOM there for? The one before? But I guess anyone who disagrees with Bush about Iraq troop levels or the color of the White House bathroom towels deserves life appointments to their position.

According to Defense officials, Abizaid submitted his retirement documents just over a month ago, shortly before Donald H. Rumsfeld was pushed out as Defense secretary. One recently retired Army general said Abizaid had wanted to retire earlier but that Rumsfeld blocked the move, insisting his war commanders stay in place. From your own souce.

General Casey who is the lead commander in Iraq was just rotated to Army Cheif of Staff, and people are still screaming he was "fired."

Give me a break dude, you used to beautiful

And of course our favorite guy weighs in again.
