Actually "she's got issues" wasn't on Smash, it was on Americana (but thats beside the point)...I dunno i dont really feel that song too much, but "The Kids Aren't Alright" which also is on Americana is a very good song, kinda touches on ways young people throw their lives away. I dunno, for some reason "Dont Look Back in Anger" and "Dont Go Away" by Oasis always strike a nerve with me, so i would probably add those songs on the list too.
