To be honest i am a fan of all rock, as i am a part time guitarist in a band, and i like to keep open minded when writing...

Emo, metal, pop-punk, alt rock - they all have good and bad points to them, tho i agree with the comment from someone earlier that emo is actually now seen as more of a fashion sense than the actual music that is produced and delivered uner that genre, and that simply is not what rock is about
Wow what an intelligent post, I am the excact way. Because of always wanting to play diverse pieces, I have a crazy amount of respect for a large assortment of genres.

Emo just out of the bands you listed there, Alexisonfire and Dashboard Confessional I like alot. Even though the two bands are incredibly diverse, and I don't even think it's emo. But oh well. Alexisonfire's rhythm pieces are like Simple Plans most hardest intro/solo/bridge x100. They have alot of skill. As with Dashboard, the lead guy does pretty much all of the shit, and his acoustic skills are amazing. I can respect that. Plus both bands have amazing vocalists, which is an added +. I'm not a big fan of Jimmyeatworld because I dont care for their singer. But I do respect them.

Bands like Falloutboy and even Panic at the Disco I respect as well, both have pretty talented singers and the guitar work is actually pretty decent. Falloutboy is actually one of my favorite bands, while PattheD are a little fucked up. I dont like them that much. But respect is given!
