Just download every song from them and listen to it.

The reason you think that, is because on tv they play the songs that have the same content all the time. Try to listen to some of these songs by these artist, and listen to the lyrics.

Talib Kweli: "Get Buy" or "Gun Music"

Tupac: "Brenda's Got A Baby" or "Changes"

There is good rap out there. The only problem is the play the same type of content all the time. Hell if you listen to some of the songs on 50 cents old album, you will see that he just doesnt rap about being a P.I.M.P.
