For me... I'd day my top 11(In no particular order):

Rolling Stones
Bobby Dylan
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Black Sabbath
Metallica
AC/DC
Guns N Roses
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
The Beatles
Rage Against The Machine
Led Zeppelin

I dont think any of those bands deserve an explanation, they basically started or ended eras of music. And if you look at bands today as their influences you will see these guys floatin' around in them.
