Default Rebel, Sweetheart

Rebel, Sweetheart
The Wallflowers
Released May 24th 2005
Lead singer: Jakob Dylan
The WallFlowers have returned. The band has been rather quiet following their 1996 quadruple-platinum album titled "Bringing Down the Horse". Which featured such hits as; "One Headlight", " 6th Avenue Heartache", "Difference" and "Three Marlenas". After that CD the band kind of fell off the face of the earth. They released two other cds inbetween one named "Breach" and the other called, "Red Letter Days". I have not listened to "Breach" myself but I have heard many claiming it to be rather bad. Red Letter Days, However, I bought and it is one of my favorite cds. There is only one song on the cd in which I don't care for. While the cd went under the radar for the most part I thought it was rather good.

Incase you didn't know The Wallflower's front man, Jakob Dylan, is the son of legendary singer/songwriter Bob Dylan. Jakob has never been big on becoming a Celebrity. He would rather sit back and work on his songwritting. For the new cd the Wallflowers went after famous producer Brendan O'Brien(Think: Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam). It seems to have helped.... because from top to bottom I feel Rebel, Sweetheart is a very soild album. The track "Back to California" even reminds me a little bit of a Pearl Jam song.

The album's current single: "The beautiful side of somewhere" is in my opinion one of the weaker songs on the album. So if you don't care for the single but are still a WallFlowers fan you should consider checking out the rest of their stuff.

Anyone here pick up this cd? Any WallFlower fans or listeners here? Let me know.
