I've experienced the 'light being' phenomenon both and have met Jesus (or my version of Jesus) before. The Jesus I met wasn't 'strongly powerful', he was soft and loving and embraced me in such a way that I felt super-secure. Of course I think that a powerful being will manifest in such a way that the experiencer needs- you may need power and awe, I might need comfort and security.
Who can say?
