Default The Horse Boy Autism Interview , Shamans of Mongolia , horses and Autism
Hello I am hoping my link works here OK . I wanted to share this interview , In my past I have worked with horses and also Autistic children and have always had a yearning to visit Mongolia , so when this book was published I was drawn to his story straight away . I was so impressed at the bravery of this couple, this is a great insight into the story of the Horse Boy an interview with his father,Rupert Isaacson.

As the synopsis says -Today's guest is Rupert Isaacson. An Author, Journalist and Human Rights activist for displaced indigenous tribes and most importantly a dedicated father of an autistic boy called Rowan.

We are very honored to have Rupert and his wife Kristin on air to discuss their amazing journey that took the family across the unspoilt planes of Mongolia on horse back to find healing for their son, all through the various indigenous shamans and healers living in the area.

Rupert has chronicled his family's amazing and brave journey through his book, "The Horse Boy" and a soon to be release film scheduled to hit our screens later this year.

About the Book

When his son Rowan was diagnosed with autism, Rupert Isaacson was devastated, afraid he might never be able to communicate with his child. But when Isaacson, a lifelong horseman, rode their neighbor's horse with Rowan, Rowan improved immeasurably. He was struck with a crazy idea: why not take Rowan to Mongolia, the one place in the world where horses and shamanic healing intersected?

THE HORSE BOY is the dramatic and heartwarming story of that impossible adventure. In Mongolia, the family found undreamed of landscapes and people, unbearable setbacks, and advances beyond their wildest dreams. This is a deeply moving, truly one-of-a-kind story--of a family willing to go to the ends of the earth to help their son, and of a boy learning to connect with the world for the first time.

Healing, Autism, Shamanism, Shamans, Horses, "Rupert Isaacson", "The Horse Boy","TheSpiritGuides.co.uk" ~

this is a powerful interview and I fully respect his descriptions of the difference between healing and cure and how the Shamans worked with his son, Rowan and the incredible shifts that occurred in him..

I read the book some time ago and have seen the film, I recommend both . I think the whole film is on utube.

Another book wanted to recommend here, though its not purely about Shamanism , in so many ways it IS about Shamanism, ( if that makes sense ) and perhaps one of the most powerful books about our impact on Nature and the Wild, the land the earth..the people who live in the most extraordinary places on this planet, and their perceptions and knowledge.

Its about language , time , Ayahuasca , the impact of the missionaries ( still ongoing ) to name a few topics explored as she travels .. http://www.jaygriffiths.com/ this is her ( Jay Griffiths ) web site the book is called, Wild and Elemental Journey , if you go to the site you can read reviews and the introduction ..I am re reading parts of it again ..

Hope you enjoy these links and find them inspiring and useful.
