Had this cat, "Abby the Cat"

Who was damn near twenty years old.

She was the boss of the house since day one.

She was doing very poorly

And I finally took her to the vet to put her down.

So the vet (a she, also) did

With Abby curled in my arms.

And I experienced a paroxysm of grief

When I saw the light go out of her eyes,

And let her go.
