How long ago was the 'l' added to the Egyptian language? Could it be on the order of the distance in time between the migrations to Asia?

I don't know exactly when the changeover occurred, Dannan, but I'll try and find out for you.

BTW, could you clarify what you mean by the "migrations to Asia"?
