ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY ARMY TO CIVILIANS

On 07 Feb 2012 at approx 1145 hrs , due to bad weather and slippery road conditions, a civil Tata Sumo slipped off the bridge near Karalpura of Kupwara District injuring six passengers on board. The injured civilians were evacuated to the Sub District Hospital at Karalpura by troops of VAJR DIVISION from where two individuals in critical state were further evacuated to District Hospital at Kupwara.

Army personnel also assisted the locals in recovering the Tata Sumo from the Nala. Timely action by troops of the Army helped in saving lives of the injured civilians. The assistance provided by the Army has been much appreciated by the locals of the area, especially the families of the injured persons.
