The quotes are good and it would be better to explain the philosophy behind these
proverbs. Stone and dog quote conveys - if you see the stone only , then you dont
see the dog and vice versa. This is conveyed by Saint Tirumoolar in his verse
of wood and elephant. That is , if you see the adhistanam you do not see the
aarOpitham.
