It is true, that there existed a Agni dynasty/Race (Agni Kulam), like that of IshvAku (Solar race) and Lunar dynasty (Chandra Kulam.). I read that the Agni race, Brahma-kshatriyas, probably descended from the Satavahanas (Telugus) incl pallavas and the bengal brahmins, who migrated to south india, were vedic learned.
