Madhavan plays a happy go lucky guy (an orphan too) called Roby.He helps people who doesn't have legal papers to stay in US.Two of those R Madhupal and Innocent.When Madhupal (after making an amount) leave for India for good,Madhavan,who was keeping his money (like a bank) looses it.He looses it thru Babu Antony who helped Madhavan in doubling the amount thru some illegal ways.Babu gets shot and dies and the guys with who killed him took away the whole amount (where Madhavan installed $20,000 out of $42,000).

Madhavan gambles with remaining $22,000 just to make up the amount (inspired from Thampi Antony who makes a lot of money thru gambling).But by gambling,he looses it all.He asks Thampi Antony for help.Thampi was ready to help but when he heard that Madhavan lost money thru gambling,He kicked him out.Madhavan was totally depressed and tryed to commit suicide.But his friends
(Madhupal & Innocent) saves him and hospitalize him.Thampi Antony on hearing this comes to the hospital and give Madhupal his $42,000 and thus Madhupal leaves.

But the tendency of commiting suicide still didn't leave Madhavan.He again tries but fails.Here then enters Sreenivasan who is a Pschyiatrist.He then tell Thampi Antony and Kalashala Babu (Who plays the role of a Father who brings Madhavan to USA) that Madhavan is suffering from an incurable disease.This news brings delight to Madhavan.He then stopped trying to commit suicide expecting death.In his ward he meets Neha who also was admitted due to the same reason of suicidal tendency.She had a love failure.But she recovered from that trouble and was coping up with a new life.Here comes Kaveri, a nurse,which reminds a nostalgic Madhavan abt his childhood friend in Kerala when he was young.Kaveri acted according to it due to Sreenivasan's orders in order to bring little bit of happiness to a dying patient.

Slowly Madhavan realises that he is going to loose Kaveri by dying and thus requests Sreenivasan to do something to save his life.Sreenivasan just gave a worthless hope.This made Madhavan more scared because of the feeling that death is near.He then enjoys the last days of his life with Kaveri by sharing Nostalgic moments (thats thru song),where she also falls in love with him.Then that night,he realises from Neha that Kaveri is just acting and she is not his childhood friend.This frustrated Madhavan more.Now he is in a dilemenna.Whether to die or not.Then next day Neha dies.This geared Madhavan more by seeing the actual plot of death.Sreenivasan then seeing Madhavan weeping and praying for his life (Madhavan was totally shocked after this unexpected death).

He then confesses thru "KUMBASAARAM" to Kalashala Babu that Madhavan has no disease.This is just the way of his treatment.Actually the disease was for Neha,but she didn't know that she is suffering from a disease,except her parents (Nazar and a lady).This traetment helps Madhavan to bring realisation abt the importance of life.Finally Kaveri proposes Madhavan which (of course) he accepts.
