Why do people keep mistaking multicultural for multiracial? Mario Balotelli can be as culturally Italian as it gets. Then there is the matter of whether Spain and Italy are countries with respectively one culture only, which obviously they are not.

The Canarian Islands are a Spanish province, Pedro is a native Spaniard too.
Guadeloupe is also a French overseas department, but I don't see people saying Thierry Henry is French.

So is the South African team... well mostly, but for a country that is 90% black the team is surprisingly white.

The black South African players in the South Africa National are team are always the best players. If you are black you have to be extremely good to be selected by such a racist National Team.

The least multicultura? Sorry, there were FIVE! Catalans playing in the team. The ones who waved the catalan flag when played in Barça:

I don't know the concrete reasons to play in a team of a country which hates them. Maybe for the money. Maybe for being famous, but I cannot understand the glory of playing for a country which is champion in unemployment, school failure and lack of human rights.

It has nothing to do.

The Canarians have an Iberian descent of about 80%, a pred Southern Spanish culture, the same regional status as any other Spanish province and are considered Spaniards by the peninsular people.

Who cares?

I'm just happy that Spain won, they're my favorite European national team. And I agree with Cinderella for the first time, those catalanes shouldn't be allowed to play on the Spanish national team, they're not Spaniards, remember? (rolls eyes)

We Catalans are atlantids, like Spaniards. Anyway, the thread is talking about culture instead of genetics.

Another issue is how genetical closeness improves cooperation and empathy, a scientist fact. But I personally wouldn't feel comfortable playing for Spain.

Some of the Spanish team looked like they had allot of North African and Middle Eastern admixture.

Silva is a Spanish-Japanese Mesizto and some of them were Canarain ( Berber roots)

Xavi and Navas could pass for an Arab or Berber.[COLOR="Silver"]

As far as I know, Spain has the least multicultural team of all Western Europe (We won't see the same in 10 years).

Not Italy with his African star, or Germany with its Turkish were able to defeat the brain coordination of mighty Spain.

Today, for the first time in centuries (actually 2 years, but anyway...), Spain made their descendants proud Manly tears have been shed this day.

So, what do you think, does multiculturalism affects negatively a team performance?
It's not a sport without black people.

White people better swim for their lives, because when we take that seriously, we will clean up at that too.

The World Cup is in Brazil in two years.

So let's see what Spain are made of over there.

Spain have not played Brazil in tournament football for a long time and when they do, they will lose.

"Multiculturalism" is a sham. It's a pretty/colorful word politicians use to justify their support of importing new people who are potential new votes to secure their place of power.

A nation by definition is "a community of people who share a common language, culture, ethnicity, descent, or history." There can be no nation in a multicultural society as it completely contradicts the very fiber of what a nation is.

Silva and Pedro aren't native Spaniards. Silva has some asian ancestry, while Pedro is from the Islands. The Irish, Polish, Ukrainian and Croatian teams were the least multicultural.

And all of them were a bunch of losers.
Croatia if I recall had a brazillian mullato.

Brazil isn't what it was 10 years ago, but they are playing as locals, so who knows, anyway...

Sapin is the triple champion without the help of any over the top Obongo star, they are a real team.

False. Rugby is only played masively by afrikaners. Rugby is their "national" sport. Blacks and even english whites prefer paying soccer than rugby. Then this team is also racist against english whites because there arent many english in the team. Most "blacks" of South African rugby team are also afrikaans speaking. This team only reflect that rugby is mainly a afrikaans speaking sport. You cant expect many real blacks there because they dont play rugby. Finally southafrican blacks arent physically so good to play rugby.

LOL, the african star, Balentelli, permitted the Italian semi-final.
