Default Are there Black Englishmen?
There are many blacks living in Britain (patriculary England), more so than in most other European countries.

Also, white British people are known on raceforums to mix and intermarry more with Black people than any other white population does.

Mulattos are still called blacks and not white.

Sure, the Blacks in Britain may mostly identify as Jamaicans, or any other African or Caribeean ancestry. But as time goes they will be British many of them.

So, can you use the terms Afro-British and "Black/colored Englishman" as much as "African-American"?

90 % of intermarriage here in England is of native English women and Afro-Caribbean and African men, English men and East Asian women happens occasionally, but you rarely see native English men with Black women.
2nd and 3rd generation immigrants from the Indian sub-content and Middle east tend to marry their own communities, often their own cousins and tribes.

Now to the question ,can a Black person ever be ethnically English - no. The same way if you moved to Japan you will never be Japanese, can they assimilate and adopt English cultural mannerisms, sure.

The English are an ethnic group, just like Tibetans and Croats.

PS there are actually more people of Sub-Saharan African origin in France than in England, it's just they are not as prominent in society over there,

You can be black and British, but not black and English, in my opinion.

They identify as British of course, as do many Blacks in Britain and similarly as French in France.

Race does not equal nationality. If they are different enough culturally from the "White British" but similar enough in some respects, I guess calling them "Black British" wouldn't be too far fetched. I would call them whatever they call themselves.

Even if they adopt the pompous English culture and if you don't consider black British people English then should Boers or White South Africans be considered African?

Ethnicity isn't just about culture though. Race and history is a part of being English, but not so important a part of Britishness.

British is the Nationality, English is the ethnicity, some people identify as ethnically British as well. Black people very rarely identify as English, some identify as British.

In reply to Janos -What are the offspring called? Well they more often than not identify more with their Black side or say they are Mixed Race. They are ethnically half English, half whatever their father was. Every day I see at least 5 English women with caramel coloured babies in prams.

They are as ethnically English as Barack Obama Or Bob Marley.

Often the Mullato kids will try twice as hard to prove their 'Blackness' (American gangsta Blackness)but sometimes they become fully assimilated.

British, not english. English is ethnic group, so not any non-english Europeans can be english too.

Black americans also proove their blackness and identify as black. But they are still american.

Personally, I will vote "No" in this poll.

Despite I started it doesn't mean I agree. I just investigate the case here.

In my opinion Blacks in England aren't more English than Black in Germany is German.

The reason is:

1) The blacks in England are still ethnically Jamaicans, Ghanaians, Somalis, Nigerians etc. They haven't lost whatever ethnicity they came from as the Black slaves to America did. They speak their native language many times (yes I know English is native to Jamaica).

2) England was not based on multi-culture and multi-race like the New World.

There is no English passport.

PS if an British born Jamaican, went to America for ten years, he would become an African-American not an English-American.

If he said he was English in Japan people would be very surprised and confused.

Sadly that's true and at times it gets on my nerves, but what pisses me the most is ignorant shits who believe you can't be black unless you adopt or become "Gangsta"
