Default African Diaspora in The Americas
Is there a definitive source that gives a breakdown of the African diaspora by country in the Americas?

For example, in the U.S., I've read that Igbos were predominant in Maryland and Virginia, and that Bantus were brought to Suriname (Dutch Guiana).

How about the different islands in the Anglophone Caribbean? Countries in Central America? South America? Spanish-speaking Caribbean? Haiti?

It would be great if there was a map showing the trail from individual African nations/ethnicities to different locations in the Americas.

Jonny,

Would you start a new thread with that question? I'm very interested in getting an answer to mine and this may take the conversation in another direction.

Thank you.

Thanks, Jonny.

Anyone? I know there's some knowledge of this within the group.

Igbos are also Bantus. Slavers sourced from ports under their control, so in the US and Caribbean probably came from former Brit like colonies Ghana,Nigeria or Liberia, Louisiana I hear from Senegal.

South America probably Angola all the way to Gabon, Spain and Portugal shared ports. Sourcing in the slave trade. It gets murky as it became commoditised.
