This channel went down the gutter. Not only do they seem to have a fixation with Nostradamus and UFOs, it looks like they dont even care about making good documentaries about real historical facts anymore.

Not too long ago I watched a documentary about Hitler escaping to Argentina in a effing submarine, and just recently one about Hannibal being portrayed as a black man.

The only good show ive seen this year was one about Queen Boudica.

They should rename it to The Hysterical Channel.

History Channel has honestly sucked for years. I really do not think the Discovery Channel is any better either. I wish we had something like the BBC here in the USA or that we got the BBC itself. They seem to make really good docs and movies. I get tired of pirating documentaries just to be able to see them. Same with their movies. I watched to watch the last BBC adaption of Sweeney Todd and the only way it was possible was to download. What can I do? They force my hand and make me pirate their shows.

Oh it's stupid. There are also a lot of reality shows on there now too.

Same with Discovery, The Learning Channel, and A&E.

I agree I miss those days. Now I have to switch through 500 channels until I find a nice Doc. to watch during the week-end. BBC sometimes has good Docs. about animals and British/or World history. The Liberal or whatever Americans are to blame for this uneducational Doc. on TV nowadays as if they're trying to dumb down the population of todays world with propaganda bullshit....

I saw the entire I, Claudius series on the Hitlery Channel during an all-day marathon. There used to be some cool programming on it, especially in regards to the ancient world.

All TV has gone downhill. Some channels used to be great, like A&E, their slogan was "time well spent" and it was true, now they might as well change it to "time well wasted".

But it's pretty much everything on TV. Even the "news" just shows entertainment stuff.

I also hate the whole concept of the marathon. Who wants to watch the same show all damn day?

Was that the show that had Hannibal fighting Genghis Khan? The only thing I remember is the Mongols being trampled by the elephant; can't remember if Hannibal was a black guy.

They do show some pretty lame stuff.

Sometimes I watch that show Gangland, but the way it's produced is so cheesy and sensationalized, like a commercial for a used car lot. The crappy visual and audio effects, cheesy music, overly dramatized BS. Can't they present information and interview people like regular human beings?

Actually I had my satellite TV service cancelled recently and the dish is also now physically gone, so watching these channels aren't even an option for me.

I saw two HC shows with a black Hannibal. One that was just about the Second Punic War and one of those fight club type ones. I might be mixing up channels too though.
