There's a difference between being Serbian and being Serb. Even English language makes the difference although many other languages do not.
Serbian is anyone who was born and raised in Serbia regardless of his ethnic origin. A Serb is someone of ethnic Serb origin. Therefore you have the right to call yourself Serbian, but you are only half Serb. |

I dont have an serbian passport, i have an austrian passport. Im austrian citizen. But here in austria i tell everybody that im a serb if they ask me, or i say "im from serbia" to make it sound more neutral. Ethnically im mixed, part serbian, part serbian gypsy but culturally im serbian and serbian language is my mother tongue. I celebrate slava (sveti nikola) and christmas on 7th january, i go to orthodox church, and do things serbians do. Concerning religion, Gypsies take religion from the local habitants and they switched into another religion, just like that... You are the most famous InternetAnthroCigo!!! Btw, if it is not too much private, who is who in your familly...who is Gypsy and who is Serb?! |

Get some DNA tests , man! You will know for sure, then. Maybe your mom was less Gypsy than you think or your dad more than he thought, etc. |

I've seen the pictures. Its interesting because IM's father is so damn stereotypical Serbian looking while his mom is really ultra Gypsy looking. I doubt his father has any Gypsy, but his mom might have Balkan admix. You should save up for 23 and me IM. |

Get some DNA tests , man! You will know for sure, then. Maybe your mom was less Gypsy than you think or your dad more than he thought, etc. And sure, you can call yourself Serbian if you want. The hardcore Serbian nationalists would probably not endorse your Serbianness based on phenotype but genetically speaking you'd probably be on the border between Europe and central-south Asia, with possibly a slight tilt toward Europe. Don't let it get to you too much, though. I think you have a lot of courage for posting your pictures and taking all the shit everyone is throwing at you. What you should do instead of worrying about a Serbian identity is to lift weights, get in shape and feel better about yourself. Also, read a lot of books. Literature is important and can get your mind focused on more important, intellectual stuff that actually matters in the real world. If you want to, I can recommend you some cool titles you could read, but you need a lot of devotion for it. Yet, you got banned from Apricity, while a woman who is half Black/European (Scottish/French) living in Canada is allowed. How absurd. At least Gypsies live in Europe. ![]() |
