If jessica alba was from ireland, scotland, or wales

with no mention of her ethnic heritage. Would it change your perception of her? would you just think she was a woggish brit not mixed raced? i'm just using her as an example.

11Woxsepmoomo 01-24-2012 11:15 AM

I don't really think about her. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/laugh.gif

But yes, she doesn't look like she's from those areas. But maybe my perception is skewed...

rxnixoncom 01-24-2012 11:17 AM

No. My perception of a person doesn't change on something so meaningless as their ethnic background or country of origin. Does yours?

kiosokkn 01-24-2012 11:18 AM

she would be from wales of descent of arabic origins distantly

or STILL she would have native american ancestry as there was a small ammount of reverse migration

or i would be half egyptian or something :P

shes still a latina

I think she means would you see her as the race she is...if that makes sense.

Basically would you question if she were mixed or pure Irish/British/Welsh.

If Lil Wayne claimed to be 100% Swedish I wouldn't question it.

I ask because the location of place of origin can change people's perception of an individual. Just like if Catherine Zeta Jones was American or Latin American, how many would see her as part Amerindian or part Black?

TamreuddyRada 01-24-2012 11:48 AM

jessica alba could never fit in scotland or wales. if she was from one of those countries we'd probably be debating even more about her racial identity, and whether she had some gypsy or arab ancestry.

the mexican in her is very noticable imo. i could never see her as just white.

leacturavar 01-24-2012 11:49 AM

I don't care for her now, I wouldn't later.

qwerty1 01-24-2012 02:21 PM

The only thing that Jessica Alba brings to mind is terrible acting.

shemadagaswer 01-25-2012 12:44 AM

she looks a typical latina/mestiza

anolbom 01-25-2012 01:45 AM

She couldnt fit in the British Isles...

Ad0i89Od 01-25-2012 06:37 AM

If I saw her walking through a country village, I would say that she was a tourist. If I saw her in a city, I'd say that she was a mixed native.

Dstyeglm 01-25-2012 06:46 AM

Maybe not her, but it definitely does affect the perception of others knowing the nationality or ethnic background of a person.

I think I've said it before here. I could post numerous pictures of Latin-Americans that are relatively recent immigrants or of a single non-American background and people will still find the amerindian/afro in them. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

zoppereurvito 01-25-2012 06:46 AM

She would pass in Scandinavia (especially Sweden) as a mixed native.

Really? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/laugh.gif

Bbjhjxfy 01-25-2012 07:06 AM

There is not one place in Europe she would look typical or pass.

zabiqapara 01-25-2012 07:24 AM

I wonder if people's perception though would be different if she really was hailing from ireland, scotland, and wales. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/laugh.gif i could imagine some would say she was a woggled brit or the product of the spanish armada. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/laugh.gif

retrahdggd 01-25-2012 07:26 AM

^ No, because she doesn't look fully Caucasoid. She doesn't look like a dark European.

DzjwMKo5 01-25-2012 07:28 AM

She doesnt look british at all she looks Latina period.
