The future of the United States
 

The demographic situation in the US is changing dramatically. From being a 90% white nation in the 1960's, America is now seeing its founding white majority in the fast lane to becoming a minority themselves and already by 2015 the majority of children in America will be non-white:


In releasing its final 2010 national results last week, the Census Bureau sent Americans a postcard from the future. From every angle, the results showed that the nation’s transformation into a “majority-minority” nation is proceeding even faster than expected. Nationally, the overall share of the non-Hispanic white population dropped from 69.1 percent in 2000 to 63.7 in 2010, a greater decline than most analysts anticipated. In a mirror image, the minority population grew from 30.9 percent in 2000 to 36.3 percent in 2010.

The change over the past decade was especially dramatic among young people. In the new census, 46.5 percent of people under 18 were minority, a dramatic jump from 39.1 percent in 2000. As recently as last summer, demographers projected that minorities would make up a majority of the under-18 population sometime after 2020. At the current rate of growth, however, nonwhites will comprise a majority of children in the United States by 2015. And because of the explosive minority growth in the youth population—the people who will form families and become parents in the coming years—the nonwhite share of the overall population is likely to grow even faster over the next decade, says Brookings Institution demographer William Frey.

What the article doesn't mention, however, is the fact that the biggest chunk of these minorities, blacks and hispanics, have an average IQ of 85 whereas whites have an average IQ of around 100. This will of course have a dramatic impact on the socioeconomic fabric of America since, as can be seen on this world map of average IQ's, the prosperity of nations and IQ are fundamentally intertwined. This is why, for example, a war-torn South Korea can go from a sub-Saharan level of poverty in the 1960's to being one of the world's richest and high-tech countries in just four decades. Today South Korea is even ranked higher on the Human Development Index than most European countries, but then again they also retain a higher average IQ than those countries as well.

In the future the United States will more and more re-adjust to the realities of its completely new demographic situation and will socioeconomically more and more mirror the mixed ~85 IQ societies of South America. I'm curious how Americans, especially whites, feel about the fact that America will become a type of Brazil of the Northern Hemisphere (with the exception perhaps that when winter comes in the US, people will be freezing to death in the favelas). And regardless even of the IQ aspect, who will hold society together when the founding whites become just another minority among many?

As the ethnic minorities become more integrated and normalized in society, their average IQs will also increase.

As you can see on this graph the percentage of both public spending and gross debt have increased in United States last ten years (while e.g. in Sweden it has declined), though a little increase started allready in the Bush era.

In other words USA is getting more "socialist".

And if they are not integrated , they will stay to live in the poor area , don't go to college ... So they will not influence the economy and the science of the country . So the country will stay the same, just with more poors .

america is going to hell in a hand basket. i see the only way that we are ever going to get out of it is if we put more emphasis on education like the asian countries are doing. as of yet i feel like we have given up on the education system. alot of schools seem to care more about meeting the bottom line to insure getting their yearly government funding than actually seeing their students excell and be something great.

last i checked the highschool dropout rate in this country is somewhere in between 15-20 percent. which is unacceptable.

Because it makes my 100th time reading how non Whites have a lower IQ in just a couple of days.

In France the establishment brags about the high fertility rate of 2,01 children per woman, even though it is a costly politic to implement for paying hicks/lowlifes and other exotic species to bring more lost souls into this world living in gloomy places with a dysfunctional educational system ruled by social dumping.

In sum if you're smart but born in the wrong place this person will never make it, if a kid is born in a right place he'll have a bright future just because his parents know important people : the elites are not renewed despite they are no longer worth to remain at the top of the social pyramid. Decadence.

It's a well-written and honest post about a serious issue which I'm genuinely interested in hearing Americans' opinions on. The fact that you just focus on that one specific detail and overlook the rest just goes to show you have some "victim identity" issues to deal with.

Blame it on the Jews.

Its so predictable. The downfall of America will of course be blamed on Blacks and Latinos.

Whites will become the minority, but it still will be ruled by Whites (WASPs and some Jews) for a while longer and I doubt the US will fall anytime soon too. I think the 21st century will remain the century of the USA.

You know I am completely against more immigration from Latin America, we have had enough already, and I feel like the latinos who come in, many really are stupid.

And the worse part is their parents are pro Immigration, even if they know that it is hurting the country, they don't care, they are still pro immigration, it pretty pathetic to see.
