The thing with Northern Irish people, especially protestants, is that they feel that they have the need to go around telling everyone how terribly British they are and how other people cannot possibly be British. They fail to realise that they are not British at all. Northern Ireland is part of the UK but not Britain. Britain is only Scotland, Wales and England. Thus the Northern Irish people want to be British, and disgard their Irish roots and ethnicity; but they aren't British.
This sort of confusion leads them to get very angry indeed, when people who are actually British, even though they are of Asian ancestry, are mentioned.
