So, I'm quite interested in knowing about the political spectrum in other countries..
I'm going to write about the main political parties that exist here in Chile.. and then you can tell us about the ones from your country.. ----- Government 1. INDEPENDENT DEMOCRATIC UNION (UDI): Far-right. Very conservative. Something like the Tea Party in the US. Strong ties with religious organizations such as the Opus Dei. Big supporters of the neoliberalism. 38 deputes. 2. NATIONAL RENEWAL (RN): Centre-right. It's got liberals and conservatives. More open towards social issues such as gay marriage. Also big supporters of the neoliberalism. 18 deputes. Opposition 3. CHRISTIAN DEMOCRACY (DC): Centrist. It's got liberals and conservatives too. Similar position to National Renewal towards social issues, but more critical of neoliberalism. A little more statist. 19 deputes. 4. PARTY FOR DEMOCRACY (PPD): Centre-left. Very liberal. Social liberals or social democrats. Also a little critical of neoliberalism. 18 deputes. 5. SOCIALIST PARTY (PS): Centre-left. Also quite liberal. It used to be more leftist in the cold war, but now they're social democrats. They call for changes for neoliberalism. 12 deputes. 6. COMMUNIST PARTY (PC): Leftist. Of course they're communist. However, they've evolved into a more open party towards free-market economy. Obviously very critical of neoliberalism. Only 3 deputes. --- Please elaborate! Thanks |
