Default Main political parties from your country
So, I'm quite interested in knowing about the political spectrum in other countries..

I'm going to write about the main political parties that exist here in Chile.. and then you can tell us about the ones from your country..

-----

Government

1. INDEPENDENT DEMOCRATIC UNION (UDI): Far-right. Very conservative. Something like the Tea Party in the US. Strong ties with religious organizations such as the Opus Dei. Big supporters of the neoliberalism. 38 deputes.

2. NATIONAL RENEWAL (RN): Centre-right. It's got liberals and conservatives. More open towards social issues such as gay marriage. Also big supporters of the neoliberalism. 18 deputes.

Opposition

3. CHRISTIAN DEMOCRACY (DC): Centrist. It's got liberals and conservatives too. Similar position to National Renewal towards social issues, but more critical of neoliberalism. A little more statist. 19 deputes.

4. PARTY FOR DEMOCRACY (PPD): Centre-left. Very liberal. Social liberals or social democrats. Also a little critical of neoliberalism. 18 deputes.

5. SOCIALIST PARTY (PS): Centre-left. Also quite liberal. It used to be more leftist in the cold war, but now they're social democrats. They call for changes for neoliberalism. 12 deputes.

6. COMMUNIST PARTY (PC): Leftist. Of course they're communist. However, they've evolved into a more open party towards free-market economy. Obviously very critical of neoliberalism. Only 3 deputes.

---

Please elaborate! Thanks

Catalan parties:
- CiU: sometimes pro-independence, sometimes pro-Spain. Conservative and anti-leftist people.
- ERC: defends independence but hidden, scared. Sometimes colaborating with PSOE.
- SI: defends independence without fear, straight out. Brave people.

Spanish parties:
- PSOE: defends Spain and they ignore everything catalan.
- PP: defends Spain and they hate everything catalan.
- C's: obsession against everything catalan.
- Plataform for Catalonia: obsession against Muslims.

DEMOCRATIC Party: Centrist. Some Democrats will lean a bit to the right, if they're somewhat conservative and others a bit to the left if they're very liberal.

REPUBLICAN Party: Right wing. The majority tend to have extremely conservative views, be it religion, politics and social matters.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not too acquainted with the Mexican political parties but I could give a brief description of the three.

PRI: Centrist. Somewhat of an agnostic attitude, not too religious or conservative and not too liberal, either.

PAN: Right wing. Conservative and religious.

PRD: Left wing. A bit radical, with somewhat of a "populous" political views.

For Turkey:

1)AKP:The government's party. They are extremely liberal in economics, conservative in ideology. They are islamist in core, but not extremist. They acted open minded in kurdish issue, they made a kurdish tv channel. They also gain vote from turkish liberals. They took %50 of the votes in last elections. The fethullah gülen's cult managed to capture all high positions in judge and bureaucracy and gave full supoort to akp. They managed to settle some of them into army and army gave up the fight against them. The only strong political movement they can't affect is kurdish nationalist movement.

2)CHP (republician party):Their previous leader stood against the islamism and kurdish identity, but he was too aggresive and he is gone. The new leader Kılıçdaroğlu is a true loser,a beta male.He is an alevi and partially armenian,he calls himself an alawi (alevi) kurd.He lacks the leadership and he surely can't speak well.Around one month ago,he tried to prove how a good muslim he is,instead of defending secularism. He has some kurdish voters,he don't have a idea about what to do with kurdish rights. He stands for nothing,a true imbecile he is.They took %27 of the votes.

3)MHP-Nationalist movement party:They are racist-nationalist/islamist hybrids. The dominant part is the Ottoman oriented islamist ones, the harcore shamanist-racists are the minority. They are all anti greek-armenian-christian.But anti-kurd ideas are increasing among the voters.Naturally they are against the kurdish rights.Their leader is a funny old man.He can't speak well,he said "dick" in a talk,he was about to say "the akp will be f.cked" and he made some strange mathematic calculations in some talks,he told in a video how to make a gray wolf sign with your hands and the difference between gray wold sign and the metal music sign (they are similar indeed). They took %13 of the votes. Before the last elections, sex videos of high ranked party members exposed by the way.

4)Freedom and democracy party:Simply the kurds. They have a strong bound with pkk, they consider them to be heroic gerillas. Some voters are left winged, some are liberals, some are kurdish racists. They demand motherlanguage education and semi autonomous region.

Let me tell you how an average right winged turk sees them

The good:AKP

The Bad:Kurdish party.

The ugly:CHP and MHP.

Labour - Socialists
Liberal Democrats - Not Liberals, but liberals. Social democrats.
Conservatives - Right wing socialists.
BNP - National Socialists
UKIP - Conservatives pretending to be Liberals.
Liberal Party - Defunct since early 20th century. Would vote for them if Gladstone was cloned and placed as candidate for PM.

William Gladstone, by far the greatest Prime Minister of all time.

Umm why is everyone socialist to you? Are you like an paranoid anti-socialism?

In England I think I'd vote for the Conservative Party. The David Cameron type though.

Socialism is morally and economically wrong on almost every level.

Why would someone refer to the Labour Party as socialist? Why would actually someone refer to the Conservative Party as socialist? One out of two: whether you've got a very interesting thesis, whether you've got issues.. haha

Conservatives support a planned economy to a certain degree. That is a fundamentally socialist concept and so anyone who supports it can be considered somewhat of a socialist.
