32 (31). Miami Dolphins, 0-4: The good news is that Miami didn't lose in week 5. But with Matt Moore now taking over for Chad Henne, things are looking even worse than before.
31 (22). Arizona Cardinals, 1-4: Kevin Kolb apparently still hasn't recovered from that concussion he suffered at the hands of Clay Matthews. Kolb couldn't get it done in week 5, against a winless Vikings team. 30 (28). Denver Broncos, 1-4: It's possible that the Tim Tebow era has resumed in Denver. Whether that's a good thing remainds to be seen. But at least Denver has god on their side now. 29 (26). St. Louis Rams, 0-4: The Rams have a talented defensive team and what looked like a rising star at quarterback. The bye week may be exactly what this team needed to get its act together. 28 (24). Indianapolis Colts, 0-5: There has been speculation the Colts may be willing to throw games in order to get Andrew Luck. If that's the case, why has this team played hard the last 3 weeks against Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, and Kansas City? Enough with that speculation for now. 27 (23). Jacksonville Jaguars, 1-4: With a rookie at quarterback, you'd normally expect a team to struggle but I don't know if that should be the expectation for Gabbert with the way Cam Newton and Andy Dalton have been playing. 26 (32). Seattle Seahawks, 2-3: You've got to feel good for ToeKnee and Seahawketter after a big upset win this week against the Giants. Ok, maybe you don't. 25 (30). Kansas City Chiefs, 2-3: With wins over the winless Colts and the then-winless Vikings, who isn't sold on this team? 24 (21). Cleveland Browns, 2-2: At 2-2, things aren't looking too bad for the Cleveland Browns but unfortunately they still play in Cleveland. 23 (29). Cincinnati Bengals, 3-2: Supposedly wide receivers are supposed to struggle in their rookie year. A.J. Green disagrees. 22 (12). Philadelphia Eagles, 1-4: I'm ranking the Eagles below the Bears. You've got to wonder what Jiddy is going to bitch about in the rankings now. 21 (27). Carolina Panthers, 1-4: The team hasn't been able to come away with too many victories but they've been exciting to watch so far this year. And who knew a supposedly inaccurate rookie quarterback would be able to revive Steve Smith's career. 20 (16). Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 3-2: What happened against the 49ers is almost as atrocious as the fact that Aqib Talib wasn't suspended this year. Karma has a funny way of catching up to people, though. Just look at Kenny Britt. 19 (20). Chicago Bears, 2-3: I really don't envy the Bears. It's bad enough that the Lions and Packers just look markedly better than them, but after the Viking's rout of the Cardinals, the Bears may go from first to worst. 18 (17). Atlanta Falcons, 2-3: Looks like Matty Ice is starting to melt a little. 17 (19). Washington Redskins, 3-1: If Tim Hightower, Roy Helu, and Ryan Torain don't strike fear into opposing defenses, I don't know who will. Shanahan will always have a decent running game but does anyone really have any confidence in Rex Grossman? 16 (25). Minnesota Vikings, 1-4: It was refreshing to see the Vikings finally figure out how to finish a game. At 1-4, the playoffs may be unlikely, but this team is going to be tough to handle from here on out. 15 (14). New York Giants, 3-2: Eli Manning has a knack for having no-name receivers come up with ridiculous fluke plays. Victor Cruz has been solid but he still has nothing on David Tyree's Superbowl catch. 14 (10). Dallas Cowboys, 2-2: The NFC East might as well be the Big East. No team in this division looks like it will be competing for a Championship any time soon. 13 (18). Tennessee Titans, 3-2: Did anyone expect Matt Hasselbeck to be having such a good season so far? I did. That's why I drafted him on my fantasy football team. 12 (11). New York Jets, 2-3: The Jets' 3 losses came @Oakland, @Baltimore, and @New England. Maybe I could bash them for a loss to a better-than-expected Raiders team but who can blame them for losses on the road against the Ravens and Patriots. I still say the Jets should start Mark Brunell. 11 (8). Pittsburgh Steelers, 3-2: I wish the Eagles had a defensive coordinator like Dick LeBeau. 10 (9). San Diego Chargers, 4-1: The way the Chargers let the Broncos back into the game was totally uninspiring. This team looks like it will be putting out the same old shit as any Norv Turner coached team. 9 (5). Houston Texans, 3-2: With Mario Williams likely to miss a good amount of time due to injury, it's clear now that the Texans should have taken Reggie Bush or Vince Young. 8 (15). Oakland Raiders, 3-2: Just win, baby. Love him or hate him, Al Davis is one of the most significant figures in NFL history. Now that the NFL no longer has any reason to want the Raiders to lose, maybe Oakland actually has a chance to win it all this year? 7 (13). San Francisco 49ers, 4-1: After dismantling the Buccaneers, the 49ers look for real. And hey, this Alex Smith guy actually isn't playing that bad. 6 (7). New England Patriots, 4-1: There are only so many constants in this world: the sun rising in the East and setting in the West, gravity, and Tom Brady looking sexy as hell on my fantasy roster. Even when he has bad weeks, he's outperforming most other players. 5 (6). Buffalo Bills, 4-1: Have I mentioned how Chan Gailey is an awesome coach? 4 (4). New Orleans Saints, 4-1: Like the Bills and Patriots, the defense may be suspect, but the offense is going to put up points every week. And like John Madden would tell you, if you score more points than you give up, you're usually going to win the game. 3 (3). Detroit Lions, 5-0: I can't remember the last time Detroit had a Monday Night game. Whenever it was, I know I couldn't have been as interested then as I was to see Detroit play this past Monday Night. And to think, they're doing all of this without a top 5 receiver. 2 (2). Baltimore Ravens, 3-1: The uniforms aren't as cool as the Maryland football team but whose uniforms are? While the defense is awesome, the weapons on this offense tend to fly under the radar. Don't be fooled. This team is scoring close to 30 points per game. 1 (1). Green Bay Packers, 5-0: Even with the fact that they play Detroit twice, we might be looking at a perfect season for the Packers this year. /jinx |
