And that should also end any talk about Moss breaking Jerry Rice's records.

Dynamic player who was his own worse enemy.

Probably second only to Jermichael Finley for giving defensive coordinators nightmares.

Who really believed he was gonna do that? Don't respond with he had the ability to, he didnt have the mindset.

That was a fun debate on the Vikings/Packers board back on ESPN in the day. There were some Viking fans adamant that he was breaking those records.

Had the same debate with Manning and Favre. Manning should pass Favre in TD's in a little over 3 seasons if he puts up 33 TD's a year like he has the last two seasons. We'll see how multiple neck surgeries affects his future plans, though.

Yeah, that contract isn't making it past 2012, I would bet.

I guess freakish shape wasn't enough to convince people to take a chance on his mental weakness.

Stupid to retire this year.

If he just plays 3 games [I think], he qualifies to buy into the NFL medical plan when he does retire.

Maybe he's set for life, but I wouldn't pass up that opportunity in any case. You never knew when your health will go bad.

Randy Moss is a lot of things, but I don't think smart is one of them.

Young people assume they will be healthy forever. You get the "But I never go to the doctor." crap. It always catches up to them eventually.

But football players should know this. They see guys careers end in a flash all of the time.

So many guys in their forties eeking out a living with huge medical bills and even if they made millions, those bills pile up fast.
