Mike Tolbert scored well. He had significantly less yards (both rushing & receiving), and a worse rushing average. It's not even really comparable. For being their only option, it's amazing Hillis put up the season that he did. You'd figure with the pathetic receiving corp and shitty options at RB that the opposing defense would be able to single in on Hillis and shut him down.

Personally, I would have put somebody more exciting on the cover if it were to be a RB -- Arian Foster (led in YFS, rushing yards, rushing TDs, total TDs) or Jamaal Charles (pretty amazing 6.4 YPC), or even McFadden (5.2 YPC and 10 total TDs despite getting injured for a portion of the season).

Or of course you could have put a QB on there -- Rodgers, Vick, Brady.

All in all, it doesn't really matter. I just think Hillis is getting a raw deal in this thread so far.
His numbers just werent that spectacular, not to mention in the last 5 weeks of the season he scored NOT ONE TD and only went over 100 yards once.

You're forgetting the only thing that matters. He was a hero in fantasy football cause he was drafted like 9th round or later.
I drafted him way late, Hardesty was slated to get the bulk of the carries, but i didnt trust the young guy, so i just grabbed his backup. it paid off well for me, Hell even may even be my keaper for this yr.

Tolbert had many fewer chances though. He only had about 2/3 the number of rushes. So add in 1/3 more rushes and he'd have many more td's. Interestingly, despite the limited carries (and being thought of as a goal-line back which hurts yd per rush avg), Tolbert still had more 20+ yard rushes than Hillis.

Of course there are. In the end, I just don't really care who is on the cover of Madden.

It's a fan vote thing and I hear the Razorback fans vote like crazy whenever they have someone with a chance to represent. Mallett would probably be the #1 pick this year if it was also a fan vote.

I am glad that Hillis is on the cover. Can't stand Vick, and I like the quote "Not everybody likes you."

Let's see...

Had mess divorce from Packers
Traded to Jets
Tore Bicep
Ended season on a losing streak throwing a bunch of INT's
Hit on and sexted women who were not his wife, and got shot down, then exposed.
Got cut.

Really, I think he may have had the worst luck of them all.
None of that happened in 2009. He had his best season ever.

80% of the people who buy the game are going to say, "who the fuck is that."

Fitzgerald and Polamalu were on the cover that season.

Madden covers are like automobiles...1 year ahead. That's why Brett was wearing a Packer jersey. They were honoring his career, since he had retired.

MADDEN 09

Some up and coming young gunslinger named Brett Favre is on the newest cover. He’s bound to lead the Packers…or Buccaneers or Vikings or Bears or Packers to a great season this year.

Even being an Eagles phan, I would say that Vick did not deserve to be on the cover. Hillis makes for a better role model.

BTW, Vick was just in the final two just for popularity purposes.

Did any of you really think that Vick would get the Madden cover twice?

Would have Rather seen Matt Millen on the cover in a tribute to GM Mode.

Good. I wish they could center the game around a storyline mode like the MLB2k series does.
when did mlb2k get storylines?

That made my day, actually.

I don't even like cowhead, but it was like he was saying, "BTW, just in case you are letting this go to your head- most people hate you"
