Carmichael's career stats:
590 receptions, 8,985 yards, 79 TDs 4-time Pro Bowler When looking at the stats, though, it's important to remember when he played. He retired in 1984. At the time of his retirement, Carmichael was 6th all-time in career receptions, 8th all-time in career TD receptions (the only person ahead of him at the time not in the Hall of Fame is Art Powell who arguably also belongs in), and 8th all-time in career receiving yards (the only non-HOFer ahead of him being Harold Jackson, who also arguably belongs in the HOF.) So, should Carmichael be in the HOF? |

Again, based on what exactly, because his numbers warrant him in the Hall of Fame. If Fred Biletnikoff walks into the Hall, then so does Carmichael. |
