Default The Best Team in the NFC
is.....

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Bucs have two 25-point home losses this season, but that doesn't matter to coach Raheem Morris.

"I like where we are. We're 4-2. We're the best team in the NFC. Yeah, I said it. We're excited," Morris said after another stirring comeback from quarterback Josh Freeman.

Perhaps Morris just meant they have the best record, but that's not true anyway. (Atlanta is 5-2.) And the reporters on the scene didn't really indicate they thought that's what Morris meant.(credit Gregg Rosenthal of PFT)

No.

But I look at the standings, and I don't see anyone that's really better than the rest.

I really do not think there is one, unless the Titans were all of a sudden an NFC team.

Are you people say Raheem Morris is wrong about his second place team being the best team in the conference?

Haven't you witnessed their dominating wins over such powerhouses as the Browns, Panthers, Bengals, and Rams?

The best team might be the Lions.

Actually, no. The only team ahead of them is Atlanta, and lets face it - they're not so great. Tampa will play them after the bye, and likely curbstomp them.

So Tampa IS the best team in their division, and equal to or better than any other team in the NFC.

They just aren't as good as Raheem seems to think. It's kind of like the tallest midget syndrome...

Actually, that's probably the right angle.

It's not 'who is the best', it's 'who sucks the least?'

And I concur that the Bucs are right in there when it comes to the least suckage in the NFC.

Part of the problem is that what the Brown and the Raiders did yesterday is making us forget how bad the NFC really is. It's hard to remember how bad they suck with those highlights still playing in your brain.

Well, except that when facing a non-bottom feeder, they lose.

By 25 points. Twice so far.

The NFC is in rough shape, but I don't see ANY dominant teams this year so far. Its as wide open as it can be for the most part.

At this point in the year, who would be your favorite to win it all?

I wouldn't be surprised if there were 10+ different answers.

Nobody from the NFC.

As far as the AFC goes, i'd love to see the Jets or Titans win it all. The Jets would be more likely, though.

I *don't* wanna see the Steelers or Ravens win it all.

NFC, maybe.

As for the Bucs, I'd like to see them be at least competitive against a good team before they annoit themselves.

Both of those games were in Tampa, as well.

sorry meant NFC.

I dont think Tampa is no where as good as he says, but for them it's encouraging they are winning close games against teams of "equal talent"

It's actually too bad...

Those wins could cost them a shot at one of the players that could swing their defense to elite status.
