With the offense Tommy Boy had, I don't think he could've missed a SB ring if he purposely tried to flop. That's why I left him off. New England did have a tough defense back then though. |

Trent Dilfer's name always has to come up when you judge quarterbacks on rings. What I said was, all things being equal, playoff and Superbowl success means a LOT to me over what some QB did in September and October against crappy teams. |

2006 bears in the SB? Also Joe Montana outdueled Ken Anderson, Boomer Esiason, Dan Marino, and John Elway. Peyton Manning outdueled Rex Grossman. Winning this year would go a long was to his legacy. |

How did his defense with that game? The Colts offense had the ball for 2/3 of the game. Manning, Addai, and Rhodes are what won that game. Manning had 1 TD and 1 INT. His impact in that SB really was minimal compared to the rushing attack, and defense. He didn't lose it, but he didn't do anything special either. |

Greg Maddux is 2-3 in his world series appearences. Curt Schilling is 4-1. Would you say Curt Schilling, therefore, is better than Greg Maddux? If you think I'm knocking Manning, I am not. He is an awesome QB, but right now at this point in his career, I can't put him ahead of Montana. No way. They didn't call him Joe Cool for nothing. He had ice water in his veins. Besides that, there's a big difference in winning a series of best of 7's, and winning 3-4 games in a row too. |

In the big game? Absolutely. I'd say the same about John Smoltz and Jack Morris too, but the career stats aren't close. Hell, even Andy Pettitte. My biggest beef is that the amount of weight put on Super Bowl Rings is disproportianate to the quarterbacks entire body of work. |
