Politely asked them to leave. Have to be professional at all times, my man.
I know, the ass whooping part was more in jest. but hey, you know where they live.

anyway, you shouldve called the cops for the same reason spitters(at police) get charged with a felony, you dont know what they couldve put in your eye.

removing them permanently as customers wouldve been funny also.

It's not, but Fahvra's one of those guys who if he found out he was allergic to a wool shirt, would still wear it just so he could complain about it.
That's hysterical and probably true.

Are you having a problem with your service?
no, you know my only real beef is the NFL network thing and the price of everything, but as you know its not any worse than other cable companies charge. I would just like to the opportunity look around somewhere besides satellite.

I actually have a good deal going right now for like $109 a month. phone, RR, hd box and showtime/hbo. not bad.

what have you heard about the phone company offering everything across their fiber? I guess that would be the only thing TW has to worry about around here.

Money solves all problems. Just keep telling yourself that.

if lack thereof was the only problem, it would solve everything that keeps me awake at night.

Oh, that's what happens. We no longer want them to have a reason to step foot in our building again.

The AT&T thing, yeah.

Oddly though, most of their customers are employees, and their customer base hasn't grown in the 2 years they've had it out.

When you hear about legislation to "let other cable companies in", what they are actually talking about is the law AT&T wants passed that allows them to avoid having to negotiate franchise rights with communities, and rather makes then standard across the board for the state. TW doesn't mind this, because it would lessen some of the bills for our current cuatomers as well.

Need to wait until they can run fiber straight to your house.

I dont have a land line in my house to begin with.

ill bet if you decide to go with their package, they will run fiber to the houses on a sign up(for subscription) basis.

You're required to have DSL.

Between BTN & NFL it is crazy. Here's the problem I have: The cable companies complain about the pricing to them (and therefor the customer)of those particular channels, but if you look at the package rates for my particaular area for comcast to upgrade from limited basic to the one that includes five more channels (Weather, TBS, and three other channels) it is 4.99. $1 per channel. I'd much rather have $4.99 choice that included NFL, Fox College, and BTN. Unfortunatley, to get that I have to subscribe to each and every service up to that point (limited basic, extended basic, digitial plus, & preferred digital) which includes literlally hundreds of channels I have no interest in.

I'd gladly pay $1 per channel for the set of 25 channels I want or buy channels in packs of 5 for $5. Heck, charge me a flat fee of $20 plus the varible rate and I'd still be happy.

I have no desire whatsoever to watch QVC, BET, or Sprout. However, these are somehow channels I have to pay for to get BTN. It sucks.

These companies need to get creative. Cuban needs to get off his ass and innovate in this market.

that would be all right, because DSL over fiber is gonna be just as fast as RR, but of course att will probably charge the shit out of everyone to have it that fast.

A la carte.

Set the price for each channel, even if it's a strong disparity.

Example:
NBC, $1
ESPN, $4
Golf Channel, $0.12
HBO, $14

Let the people decide what they want. And if the Cable company wants to have a 'base charge' first, that's fine. And if the Cable company wants to offer package deals (like they do now), that's fine too.

We shouldn't have to subsidize unwanted networks.

Not necessarily. 'Cause you know, "Little Miss Susie Homemaker," will need something to do between loads of laundry and while she's dusting. She very well can't go shopping while cleaning can she. This gives her that outlet.

Of course, that will also be between the Soap Operas as well.

Maybe QVC is doomed.

You don't understand how the Q works the numbers.

Q pays the cable/sat companies based on number of subs in their area a fee - which is comprised of a % of sales, and that % varies by where the Q is located in the lineup - the further you have to go to find them, the smaller the kickback to the Cable/Sat company. Some companies aren't getting much, so they are putting Q into a 'home shopping tier' somewhere on the back end.

Comcast used to be a part owner, and has a huge base here on the Eastern Seaboard - and the Q is located here too. Q is usually in the top 20 in strong markets (not FL, where HSN is based).

So, if my a la carte plan were to be enacted, Q would have to completely restructure it's payment operation. Alternatively, it could be one of those 'free' offerings, and subscribers to cable would have to opt out of it in order to avoid it.
