Poker is illegal outside of the legal establishments.
Not if you play for matchsticks.

Dogfighting is. It takes a certain type of person to fight dogs and if you do that, you're gonna be doing other illegal activities as well
Please name some crimes that 100% of people that participate in dogfighting should be charged with outside of the scope of dogfighting. I'll even start the list.

1. Drug possession/use
2.
3.
4.

He wasn't saying that its a biproduct. Just that if you participate in dogfighting. 100% of the time you are doing something else illegal. Whether is direcetly related to dogfighting or not
Not knowing the legal definition of 'dog fighting', I'd hazard at this combination:

Felony?: Abuse of Animals
Felony?: Illegal Gambling (on those animals)
Felony?: Conspiracy to commit both acts above

This all assumes no interstate commerce, which would bring the Feds in.

So I see no reason to argue about this. I can probably come up with a half dozen misdemeanor crimes as well - all related to the central issue (dog fighting).

And, while ignorance is no excuse, there's NOBODY outside of Appalachia that doesn't know about dog fighting being a serious crime now.

Why was this in Atlanta?

The dog fighting was in Virginia, Vick is from Virginia.

Vick cares nothing about Atlanta or its fans.

He cares about Ron Mexico and how much herpes he can spread and how much $$$$ he can pocket.

Why does a city whose fans he flipped-off give a rat's snatch about this selfish bastard?
I think your main point that it happened in Va. is valid, the rest though?

I wasn't sure where that would fall (felony, misdemeanor, etc), so I chose not to include it.

It's the other way around.

Someone who uses pot is going to become a bank robber.
