Facing federal dogfighting charges, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was offered a plea deal and has until Friday to decide whether or not he will accept it, ESPN reported Monday.
Vick’s attorneys met with federal prosecutor Michael Gill and investigators Monday afternoon and plan to discuss the quarterback’s options with him, sources told ESPN.

This report comes on the same day that Vick’s co-defendants, Purnell Peace and Quanis Phillips will be in court for their plea agreement hearings on Thursday and Friday. Another co-defendant, Tony Taylor, has agreed to fully cooperate with investigators.
In a July 26 indictment, Vick was accused of being involved in a grisly dogfighting operation called "Bad Newz Kennels" that was run on property he owned in Surry, Va. Vick and each of his co-defendants pleaded not guilty.

Probably so, but stranger things have happened. The attorneys can discredit the witnesses against him by pointing out that they all took plea bargains with reduced sentences to testify against Vick. They only need to create enough doubt in 1/12 people. And that's after making sure they get 12 brain donors on the jury.

It will indeed. I'm not going to jump the gun on guessing what the league will do. But, the media is covering Vick, a dog abuser, much, much, much more than it did Little, a person who serially drives drunk and has killed a wife and a mother as a result. Pathetic.

I think its because the average American is an animal lover, and what Vick alledgedly did was an absolutely heinous act.

lot's of dog and animal lovers, probably more than people affected by a drunk driver in this country. that plays a large part in the coverage. not that it makes what little did any better than what vick what is alleged to have done.

ESPN just said on the 30 minute update that his lawyers have gotten a deal of 1 year or less of jail, currently mulling it apparently.
