Default Johnson wont declare if oakland wants him
Report: Calvin Johnson doesn't want to go to OAK Calvin Johnson - WR - CLG - Jan. 7 - 11:25 am etGeorgia Tech junior wide receiver Calvin Johnson is reportedly gauging the Raiders' interest in him, and may elect not to declare for the NFL Draft if Oakland seems poised to take him No. 1 overall.
This appears to be a stretch
, considering he'll be guaranteed roughly $25 million. NBC's Peter King reported Saturday that Oakland would likely choose LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell with the top pick. Jan. 7 - 11:25 am et

Hey works for me...Al davis loves WR like him and I think the Raiders are set at the WR position and we need to draft a qb hopefully Jamarcus Russell

I actually caught the Gator Bowl, and it seems Johnson is actually working on a type of septic system that can be used in poor countries, and will be heading to Bolivia in a few weeks. Didn't strike me as a dummy.

Wow, that is one set of balls on the kid to turn down all that money and stay in college an extra year risking injury or less money (if he has a poor season) just so he doesn't end up a Raider.

Good for him...

Are you counting the two star malcontents?

I GUARANTEE one of them is gone, perhaps both of them.

I would venture to guess Jerry Porter has no future in Oakland.

After that they have some complimentary type of WRs like Curry and Gabriel.

that's kinda my point. i was watching the game as well and saw that part, but for as smart as he would have to be to be apart of something like that, deciding not to go pro because the raiders might draft you speaks to a level of intelligence much greater.

What if the Raiders don't want him, but the Lions come calling?

Has Calvin Johnson ever heard of Bo Jackson? You can enter the draft and refuse to sign with a team if they draft you.

They also have a few young guys at WR that most of you don't know about because they have people like Moss Porter,Curry,Gabriel infront of them....Johnson would help any team but its kinda hard to get the WR the ball when you don't have a QB that can do it

"Sure I'll go work on septic systems in Bolivia, no problem"

"Go to the Raiders, no way"

What does that tell you

Not exactly.

Once you hire an agent, you can't turn back.

Bo had other options. Namely the Royals.

I don't think the Raiders would draft a WR number 1 anyways, but I could be wrong. Now if they moved down and made some trades of their WRs, then yeah, maybe.

I never said he would go back to college. But he wouldn't have to sign with the Raiders.

what does that tell me? That the kid actually cares about other people and wants to help others out there in the world. Cares more about people then he does about making millions in the nfl and playing on a crappy team. More sports stars should be like him. Hes down to earth and trying to help the less fortunate
